It really gets into the logic and process behind bookings, which I found interesting:

Stage AE defies the standard notions of Pittsburgh's concert image - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

From a broader relevance perspective, the fact that their bread-and-butter is college and young professional tells you a lot about the new emerging Pittsburgh scene.

Interesting. The promoters from Cleveland think that Pittsburgh is good for nothing but country and classic rock, while the promoters from Columbus think that Pittsburgh is good for everything. More PromoWest and less LiveNation, please.

This venue is exactly what was needed in terms of booking mid-level national acts. The guy interviewed seems pretty genuine and honest too.

I'm glad he said no to high priced electronic acts. I want to see more electronic acts here, but if they're charging outrageous prices then hell no.

Interesting read.
Wish the Polyphonic Spree was booked at AE instead of Mr. Smalls. Gonna be kind of tight on that stage with a 22-piece band.

Always pulling for Mr. Smalls. They bring in the smaller venues and do a great job. Glad they keep it going.

I have nothing against Mr. Small's. I've seen shows there and it's fine for many acts. But if you're not familiar with the Spree, it's hard to imagine how they're going to fit.

Much more entertaining and informative read than past interviews with LiveNation Cleveland's Michael Belkin.
