Just like most subjects, most only see "gloom and doom", or all positives. The reality is most folks are in the middle on this matter because there are a lot of unknown variables. I am happy about the gloom and doom folks though because they can add some pressure to make sure shortcuts aren't being taken. All it will take is one idiot company to start dumping their crap in some creek somewhere and the shift will be fast and furious against these companies fumbling around positioning themselves to make money.

It is hard to say how it will play out, but I hope that PIT is a big winner and they could be extremely competitive and really beat out places like Charlotte. All this remains to be seen. Where is PITAirport?

I agree, NatGas rates over the next 5-6 yers should trend up slightly and then stay within a tight range for quite some time. So yes, gas rates will go up from these lows, but they will stay well below the historic average for the foreseeable future (until the trend lines converge).

As for water, that's why I said greater water supply. I don't doubt there will be small scale incidents like the one mentioned above where some knucklehead backs up his trucks in a river or an individual water supply is compromised due to an accident. What I am saying is fracking won't ever destroy a major aquifer or cause a long term contamination of the "4th river".

I take no issue with skepticism, it's the presentation of misinformation in order to scare people into a common belief that I do not like.

Well, what is certain is that PIT just "won" $50 million dollars. That should do tremendous things. Consol has additionally "promised" $450 million in royaltes... but you cannot hold them to a nickel of that. Developing the airport is more complicated and costly than your average farm due to onerous conitions in the lease and broad restrictions imposed by the feds. If Consol manages to sink a couple of good wells in there the airport could be in line for some nice cash flow for 30+ years which could and should be used to bring down those landing fees. I'd love it if a substantial portion of the money could be used to improve public transportation to the airport, but I'm not yet sure if that is an FAA approved use (and it's even more concerning that the Feds even have a say).
