And if people could stop honking at me to go faster or sooner, that would be great. It takes more time for me to roll down the window and flip you off than it would to just wait patiently for me to wait for the pedestrian to cross the street.

Is there another place in the country where this happens? I've driven in most of the East Coast and all of the West Coast states (and a couple in between) and have never seen much in the way of waving (or being courteous) .

Default I disagree

Every day I see lots of people dive up exit lanes etc. then cut in front of a long line of traffic. Ft. Pitt Bridge, Veterans Bridge, Boulevard of the Allies, many examples. Why do these people think they have a right to cut in front of everyone else? Look in the mirror, you know what you are.

Then there are the people that cruise in the left lane during rush hour while a long backup of cars forms behind them. Why not show some courtesy and move to the right?

If people were not so selfish, traffic would flow better and we would all get we are going sooner with less stress.

You're not too bright are you? NY plates are very often rental cars from the airport so they could be from anywhere. They would probably be the last people driving aggressively and would be the ones that don't know the area. Also WV and OH plates are quite often people that work in the area and probably know the roads better than many people. When I work downtown I see crazy stuff every day it has nothing to do with where someone is from. Get over the xenophobia dude.

It seems that knowledge of this area and its roads would have everything to do with where they are from.

I say it's true. I remember visiting Pittsburgh and was embarrassed by my own aggressive driving habits. I felt like a wolf among sheep. i learned to drive in Atlanta, and Pittsburgh drivers are more courteous by far. But that perception might be more relative than actual.

Uhmmm...no it doesn't. You're using faulty logic combined with a lack of understanding, or limited view, of the region. A license plate doesn't mean anything. I've seen tons of horrible PA drivers in Pittsburgh and on route 22 or I79 but I have no idea what part of PA they're from or how often they drive in the city. Downtown is always crazy around rush hour....I've almost been ran over before and sometimes it was a bus driver in a bendy bus (cute). I see 10 different license plates a day in my area I honestly never even look for it seems like a strange thing to do.

I have my moments of dimness, but never so dim that I'd think that most people drive less aggressively in a rented car.
