Yep, everybody needs to pay attention. Motorists and pedestrians.

Sounds like eighth grade and even more, entitlement. Many want everything that conveniences them. Though many feel it is, the government isn't responsible for all of ones conveniences.

I'm going to try one more time and see if you won't respond with something besides a cliche. The government set up the roads. It's one of their major functions. Why wouldn't it be reasonable for voters to try to get the government to make them convenient for pedestrians?

You may find it a cliche, however, its as factual as it gets.

Roads are built in every way shape and form for motorized vehicles. Side and crosswalks are for pedestrians. Along with parks, walking trails, etc...

However, wanting to walk in and alongside traffic is quite a ridiculous suggestion as its a recipe for an extreme amount of accidents.

Moby, are you arguing with erieguy for some reason? Put him on ignore and go about your life. He is just trolling and he follows me around on here. Not worth the typing. I don't think he believes much of what he types anyway. Just baiting people.

Slowing down is a key factor. If you only know what I see everyday riding a bike around here. Just saw some moron driving down through the zoo and almost had to pass someone on the right because he was following so close and the guy made a sudden stop because he was from out of town and lost. Today I saw someone driving over 60mph on Highland Ave in Highland Park. Can you be any more selfish? Cops don't care, so many drivers don't either.

Guess it is that time of year again. Thankfully neither of these little kids died. There will no doubt be some kids dying this year. If people would only slow down on these residential streets. Just so selfish.

^ I truly don't have any patience for this anymore when driving around our city. GPS units have been available for many years now, and, like many other gadgets, they've come down drastically in price since their inception. If you don't have a GPS in your vehicle, then you have no business being a driving tourist in a major city that is unfamiliar to you. You don't just suddenly stop in the middle of a road so you can scratch your head.

While its absolutely horrible for ANYBODY to get hit, where are the parents or guardians? Did they ride out in front of the car? Any driver would be devastated to hit a child. Without the entire story, one can't assume whise fault it is.

I'm not sure that GPS things make it safer to drive. I had one in a rental car and found it so distracting that I never got one on my own car. I pull over to use the map on my phone if I'm lost.

Following voice commands is pretty simple with todays GPS. A whole lot easier than pulling over in a populated area and reading a map.
