Since we are always at conflict, they will always have choices of food. We are the only country in the world with an embargo against Cuba, so that will always be on the choice list. Kind of a cool idea.

Direct link to them:
Conflict Kitchen

They have been around for several years now. I have not been to the current location, but ate when they were in East Liberty.
Good food too!

How about an actual link to Conflict Kitchen instead of Yahoo?

Decent food; menu is revolving, only real downside is that it attracts some political wack jobs who are eager to share their latest conspiracy with you at times.

Old news, but I'm sure they appreciate the additional publicity.

Ridiculous and pretentious at the same time.

Bring back the steel mills. I miss the real Pittsburgh.

The food is pretty good actually, I really enjoyed the North Korean month or two, and its a kinda novel concept. Perfect for a location that is essentially a college campus.

Guess your miss the smoke and pollution too then, bear? Welcome to my ignore list ...

Yerp. I remember when they were serving Iranian food a couple summers ago. The Persian halvah was fantastic (much better than the Levantine tahini-based variety, IMO).

A hair pretentious, but that's easily outweighed by the delicious food and interesting concept.

I'm sorry you don't like progress. Again, I suggest you move to a decidedly non-trendy place that's likely to remain stagnant for the foreseeable future.

Kind of amazed that anyone hasn't heard of this. It's made national news for years. Heck, the BBC sent a reporter here three years ago to do a story on it. Looking at the Kitchen's press site, even Jay Leno made joke about it.

Why does progress have to equal "pretense"?

I'm sort of with bluecarebear on this one. Let's NOT bring back the steel mills and pollution, but let's create a NEW Pittsburgh that isn't going to eventually just house a medley of shallow people sipping lattes while discussing political topics they think they understand but don't really understand.
