People in Western Pennsylvania should be flattered that people from all over the world want to move there. Western PA is lucky to have a city like Pittsburgh located there or else it would probably be like West Virginia.

There's only so many people who can move here from inside the US and we're not reproducing fast enough to make up for deaths so immigration is the only way that we can really grow. Pittsburgh has one of the lowest percent of foreign for population in the country which is a big reason why we've lost so much population.

YAY! Another East Ender! Are you also going to sip lattes with your pinky out, listen to Bjork, drive a hybrid, and talk about Darfur?

Hopefully that trend will change. Pittsburgh does have a lot of potential, there's no denying that.

I find the anecdote the Bhutanese (Nepali? I mean, they are really ethnic Nepalis from Bhutan) population from other cities is relocating here. My understanding is Cleveland, Erie, and Pittsburgh were the three big places which got most of that refugee population, so a secondary shift towards Pittsburgh could be a big effin deal.

Let's focus on what really matters. Does this mean we'll finally get an authentic Mexican restaurant?

Also, do the immigrants prefer Enya or Bjork? Inquiring minds MUST know!

There is no such thing, except in Mexico. It's unpossible.

I'm sure gwilly is referring to the non-Northern Panhandle portion of WV. The Northern Panhandle is quite distinct from the rest of the Mountain State as it's heavily populated and intertwined with the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.
