Cool. Glad to see that Pittsburgh can attract young people to come visit. Wild to see us on the same list as Milan, Reykjavik and Perth.

Last year was a blast! I recommend this festival for anyone who even has the slightest interest in music festivals. I'll be there this year for sure.

So at what point do we conclude that Pittsburgh has a better reputation outside the United States than in it?

Lets see

VIA
One Young World
G20

It does seem like Pittsburgh has a better International reputation than it does domestically.

Don't forget much love from The Economist:

Move over, Honolulu; Pittsburgh's No. 1 in U.S.

I actually think that confirms the point. Internationally people think we did a great job with the G20, because they are aware that other host cities have had much worse problems despite much higher security costs.

That isn't to say local concerns with the handling of security at the G20 are invalid. But internationally, for good or ill people have different standards and different measures of success.

I don't think security costs were one of the considerations when people look at the utter trampling of civil liberties that occurred during the G20. Thousands of Youtube and article comments from people worldwide condemning the events that occurred are what I was referring to.
