I currently lease space in an office building in Dormont. My business is a private licenced training school and has been in this location for 30 years (I have only owned it for 3 years). Anyway I just had an inspection by the PA Board of Education and they asked me for my occupancy permit. The building owner does not have it and says that its my responsibility to get it? I called Dormont Boro and they do not have one on record. Who is responsible an Occupancy Permit Lessee or Lessor? Any help would be great. Thanks

Ask the borough to give you one. It might require inspections from code enforcement and changes to be made.

Never fun.

thanks for the advice. After some digging I managed to get the Occupancy Permit for the whole building through the building owner, not just for my space. The PA Board of Education accepted it. I was dreading having to apply for a new one for fear there would be changes...thanks again
