Pittsburghers degrade US Airways for the cuts all the time but then get angry when they aren't included in their "ceremonial flight".

Rightfully so. I think Pittsburghers in this case can gripe all they want and certainly not feel bad about it. I am glad USAir isn't bothering flying to Pittsburgh, which was a huge hub and a building place for them. It is how Pittsburgh was treated after they built that huge airport for their hub, and they bailed out. USAir and their management can stick it if you ask me.

The cuts? It's because they screwed the city after we built an airport to their specifications down to the last nail.

Key word there being overbuilt, to a very large degree and with taxpayer money.

PIT continues to underperform. If the airport is not hub material anymore, even if it used to be, you can't expect them to stick around just to be nice. It's business.

I know more than a couple former employees and I'm sure they'd have appreciated the opportunity to show up and flip them the bird one last time...

That is why you don't bribe corporations into coming to an area by building them things and giving away money. You build a sustainable economy by making the area liveable and attracting an educated workforce, Pittsburgh has making strides with this in recent years.

Talk about willful ignorance. I guess GM should write Flint, MI out of its history too? It seems that everybody loves rewriting the history of everything these days.

Not sure why it would include pittsburgh as a. It was no longer a hub city & b. It was US airways in name only; America West purchased them years ago
