The Serbian churches are gone from the South Side - but the Serbian Club remains on Sarah Street.
This weekend is the biggest festival of the year for us: https://www.snf4u.com/upcoming-events
Come on down for some cevapi and pivo!

Yes, most of the folks there are from the suburbs.
For this festival, people have come from all over the US in the past - and even down from Canada.
It is one of the most stereotypically Eastern European experiences possible without getting on a plane - deafening accordion music, massive kolo (circular group) dances, girls with heels that are bigger than their little black dresses, Serbian food, and of course lots and lots of alcohol.

I'm not sure whether I'm going on Friday or Saturday, but feel free to shoot me a PM if you're interested in experiencing the festival and meeting up for a beer.

i looked at a website this afternoon - i think you have to be a guest. you cant just pay and go in. true?

its sounds GREAT.

by comparison, the Italian thing in Bloomfield should be called "Italian-American". It is hardly 'italian' except for a few older people enjoying the traditional stuff. you dont hear ANY italian spoken there.

are there even polish festivals in the city anymore?

i might try to crash the serbian thing.

The Serbian Club is *generally* a members-only club in which you must be a member or a guest of a member. HOWEVER, the '3 Day Weekend' event is an event in which everyone who pays the cover charge is able to come.

I think there is a Polish festival at the main church in Polish Hill. SCR would be able to confirm that for sure though.

Well at least Bloomfield is going to have some fun. I may dress as Columbus the great explorer from way back in the late 1400's. Sure an amazing man!

That’s gone way way downhill. It’s not put on by the community but instead a private org. It’s all CBD , commercial products, carnival food etc. Nothing like it used to be. Several business close for the duration of it.

I do. You seem to speak out the other end. Enjoy your Ohio life. We all know you are a troll.

I would imagine you get information from city paper. People need to know it is free for a reason. Also who writes for a free paper. Ha ha ha. Come on get with real life for a moment at least. Can this forum get more dumbed down? Maybe, but it would be tough.
