From what I understand, the bad press was regarding The Coop and its "insensitivity" to the gentrification of East Liberty and its roots.

it is definitely a thin line and I am pretty anti PC but a quick brainstorm could figure out that some may have a problem with this.

While I don't think it's a "build your own" Poke establishment, I've been hearing people RAVE about the Poke bowls at Mt. Everest Sushi in Oakland. Anyone been? You're welcome

There is a place in Oakland called Mt. Everest Restaurant. They have Poke bowls and Sushi Donuts! They are delicious!

I've been there! I'm a fan of their salmon poke bowls and sushi donuts!

Pittsburgh Poke

Downtown, right next to the McDonald's on Liberty Ave near Market Square. They either just opened or will soon, not sure.
