District residents should be aware that the Woodland Hills School District has again requested a property tax increase far above the allowable “cost-of-living” rate allowed by the state. The district has applied for an exception to allow for this large increase.

If the exception is approved this year (as it was last year), home owners’ school property tax millage will increase from 25.350 mills to 29.830 mills. That is a 17.68% increase.

School board budget meetings are scheduled for Thursday, April 6 and Tuesday, May 9 at the Woodland Hills High School Media Center--both at 6 p.m.

Concerned residents should voice their concerns at these meetings, by contacting the school board members and by contacting their PA representatives:

Jay Costa PA Senate
