We have an event that we are considering attending that is in November. It is indoors with about 50-150 people gathered for about 3 hours.

We are having a hard time deciding whether or not we should be cautious and cancel or if we should sign up. At this point, it's hard to make a decision because although it appears that cases in Allegheny County are going down, we are not sure if it's better to be safe than sorry or if it's better to just go for it.

Thoughts?

Is there any reason to need to decide now, rather than waiting until closer to the date of the event?

its probably something requiring an RSVP, like a wedding reception.

noblerare - i would make plans, but give yourself an 'out', if possible. for example, if it requires room reservations for you, see if you can get a refund if it comes to that.

if its a family thing like a wedding, they'd understand if you eventually did NOT make it because of this.

i do hope by november these dark days of pandemic and national strife are behind us to some extent.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. No reason too unless it is something that you really want to do. I think events like the one mentioned are things that you should avoid.

I wouldn’t make any plans to attend group events before next spring. Especially if they involve older adults.
