the silence here in support of Schubert, who has pretty much a terrific, clean record, is deafening.

if he were female, black or gay, with everything else equal, there'd be a holiday in his honour.

if he were in a different jurisdiction, he'd be given props, handshakes and hugs on his way out.

They don’t want a chief that does his job. They want a chief that coddles the folks in the problem areas, doesn’t want stops that could lead to bigger crimes, wants police to handle criminals with kid gloves, appease the community leaders that are too weak to turn over the criminals as they obviously know who they are, etc… Gainey talks a big game but they’re not going to do anything.

Schubert is obviously great as his job to get hired with the FBI. He’s just not good enough to work in a Lib city that will continue to reap what it sows. It’ll certainly get worse.

I wonder if any Pittsburgh Police lurk on here? They should make an anonymous account and provide some insight.

Hopefully the majority got better paying jobs in the burbs so they don’t have to deal with the powers that be, criminal losers, and those that defend them. I remember the city having a very hard time filling positions for police officers so don’t know if that’s changed. Imagine having to look at Big Ed and taking him seriously.

I don't know how credible this is. Might be just some interview, but if he becomes chief, people should know who he is, I guess. Maybe it is only important to the department that I am sure has pretty low moral considering they have been under attack since 2016 when Trump entered the presidential race.
