Chief Schubert worked his way up through the ranks over 3 decades. He sure seemed like a great fit, but to be honest, who the heck wants to be a city policeman of any rank these days? Absolutely thankless job and never-ending headache with the leftists.

Wonder who will replace him. Probably a minority I suspect.

The timing seems fishy.. wasnt it just a few weeks ago that a community advisory panel gave Gainey a report recommending that Schubert be replaced?
Hard to believe his retirement is completely voluntary.

Bingo…no way was it voluntary…and I’m looking forward to see who replaces him and how they plan to handle the violent crime and the losers that commit it, although I’m wagering nothing will change except for the person put in place. Folks cry for change but they’re not interested in putting violent or repeat violent criminals away, hence it’ll continue to get worse. Schubert’s just the scapegoat. Big Ed is all talk.

could be coincidence - Schubert is possibly being diplomatic about it. he COULD truly be thinking "ive had enough of this bullcrap...." who knows.

Hopefully he was able to get the Pfaffmans prosecuted to the fullest extent before he “retired”. Still haven’t heard the outcome.

Excellent news for him. He’s wayyyy better off. Can’t wait to see who replaces him. I expect it’ll be a diverse hire that will conform to the police are meanies folks that will defend and enable poor entitled because society criminals while crime continues to rise.

About 20 percent of cops are the reason why you have protests. They aren’t good people. The others care about their job and the public.
