You took me off guard there for a moment! I was thinking, "what do they call clowns in other places?"

150k isn't really considered cheap in Pittsburgh, is it? You can buy a decent house in a decent neighborhood for half that amount.

Sure, but you wouldn't have the self-righteous pleasure of living in a $675k "Ecohome."

Green Homes for Sale - Ashland, Oregon 97520 Green Home | Listing #18674

What would Al Gore say?

I don't know much about housing, but doesn't the exterior of that house look cheap...like ecohome deterioraiting to become part of the earth well before the year 2100 cheap?

Granted, I REALLY know very little about housing, so maybe I'm wrong?

It's considered cheap compared to where the OP lives now.

Now, as a guy who works for a living, I don't consider $150k cheap, but in some parts of the country, they pay that much for a bathroom remodel..

Hey, in Detroit, you can buy the Silverdome, the stadium where the Detoit Lions played for years - just sold to a Greek-Canadian guy for $570,000!!! Now that's a bargain! (Just hit the news a few days ago).

Here's my house that is currently for sale (an offer is coming in tonight - woohoo!):
2325 Wrights Way, Pittsburgh PA - Trulia

This is one of the more expensive neighborhoods in the city, so it's a tad higher than your budget, but you get the picture. If my house were in any other neighborhood it would be around 150, and that includes a lot of really good urban neighborhoods. If you move a little bit outside of the city, the cost comes down even more. Very affordable here!
