HI, I saw your posting and wanted to tell you about my area. I live in North Huntingdon, PA my husband works in Greensburg too. He can make it to work from 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. We can also be in downtown Pittsburgh in about 30 minutes. There is a nice mall 15 minutes from here and many new neighborhoods that are popping up where there was once a farm (sad, but nice for those who move there). We have 3 major developers in the area Ryan homes (okay), Maronda (inspectors say, the worst) and a man named Shuster (top of the line). A shuster home begins around $350 and you get a well built home but the neighbors seem to be trying to out do one another. I live in a slightly older development but like it. We watch out for one another. It sounds like you would want a shuster home? Not saying you're not kind and nice I'm just saying because of your price range. The 3 bedroom homes in my area only go for around 200,000 if that. I would say just about any development around here is nice. (oh, except for Falcon Ridge, thumbs down from several people I know that looked and a friend of ours who is a realtor) the Maronda homes which is Falcon Ridge are poorly made. They look great but the quality is not there. Our schools are great. The school rank high in academics and athletics. Our sports facilities are the best in the area. They are better then the more expensive areas of Pgh. If you want to see the schools check out the "Norwin School" website. I hope this helped. If you should have any questions I would be happy to help, however I can. I will try and give you both sides, my opinion and others. Take care and good luck. AJ

Lincoln Hills development (Shuster) is a nice development. We drove through there last weekend scouting for the Sister in law who wants to move back from TX in a year or so. Easy access to Rte. 30 and the turnpike. Too bad they leveled all the old trees that were there. Would have been nice to keep a few around.

For the price range you're looking in, I would suggest going east and finding something around Ligoner. Especially if you want something with character, or maybe some land.
