Not so. She has me on her side and will continue to do so since I can read what she says and understand it. I also agree with her completely because I am not twisting her words to fit my agenda.

It doesn't surprise me that so many people think depressed poverty affects only "minorities" in urban areas, this is what the media has been brainwashing us to believe since the day we're born. It's all about poor urban minorities. When was the last time you heard about poor rural whites? Diane Sawyer did a TV special years ago called "Hidden America: Children of the Mountains", that was the first and last time I saw anybody in the mainstream media do an in-depth investigative report on the Appalachian poor. It was a great report, please look it up on YouTube or Google.

These people are afflicted with many of the same problems as poor urban blacks: poverty, violence, drug use, broken families, lack of education and job opportutnies, etc. But nobody thinks about them when they create scholarships and programs "for the poor". Nobody cares about poor white people, especially rich, racist liberals like Bill Gates.

That said, here are the scholarships offered by the B&MG Foundation -- click the "Find a Scholarship" tab:

Scholarships - Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

"Our Approach" shows you these are generally for low income students.

I think Bill and Melinda Gates are about the least likely billionaires to be even remotely racist.....
You know I am getting about in need of a new computer and I might give some consideration to something other than an IMac because of this whole thing.

Great article you linked. I was going to rep you until you finished up with rich, racist liberals like Bill Gates. I didn't really like that part so no rep.

Do you really think that some of us here are KKK members? I sure don't see any of them and if I did I would always use my right to ignore them when they post.

I was a joke Roy because the left, and especially the far left loves Macs. My friends who are to the left of me almost all have Macs and are often trying to get me to convert. Apple isn't exactly a bastion of conservatism, which is what I am getting at. Just sounds like out of the frying pan and into the fire to me when righties start saying they want to replace their PCs with Macs. You don't fit the bill of those I was joking about -- because you already use Macs. Not surprised, as you are an ex-teacher. Macs are prevalent in the educational field, as I am sure you know.

Sorry on this board when people announce that they are "Proud Patriots" it usually means just the opposite!!

I specifically mentioned that poor Whites are eligible for many scholarships aimed at underprivileged and under representative minority groups.

Black people don't deny these people access to education, it's other White's who look down on you due to your socio-economic status, your gripe is with then NOT with Black People.

Scholarships that Target White Ethnicities -- Diversity is also White
I really got a kick out of that list of white only scholarships. Did you ever manage to think that for Irish, Italina, Polish or Jewish only schollies could have failed to be for minorities? I don't think that many of those counries have been as racially diverse as ours so few, if any people descended from their people would not be white.

That is the saddest attempt to prove something about "hundreds" of schollies I have ever seen. Why don't you think a little bit about a Polish scholarship going to a black kid named Jones or something like that? Why don't you just think a little bit?
