COCOA, Fla. – A Florida man who reported a suspect wanted in a string of bomb threats will not get a $5,000 reward because he called 911 before the local crime hotline.

Central Florida Crimeline's board of directors unanimously agreed Wednesday to not award the prize to 22-year-old Mike Schillmoeller.

The guy was in custody when the call was made.
His tip was worthless.
And you think he deserves money for that?
Really?
From the article: "... was already in custody when they got the tip, so Crimeline didn't play a role in solving the case."

The guy was in Custody because this guy had called 911 on him 20 minutes before.

That'll be the last time he calls something in.

Then he should have called Crimeline, not 911.
But if you don't play by the rules, you don't get the reward.
That's pretty simple.

If he was only doing it for the reward, most likely.

So, he fulfilled the spirit of the contract, but not the letter.

Another case of form conquering substance.

Is the Central Florida Crimeline board trying to divert away from critical use of 911 services?

Who says the Central Florida Crimeline board would have successfully apprehended the bad guy?

I think I see a Turf War here.

Who gets the collar, who gets the collar?

Does the Central Florida Crimeline board have a 3 digit dialing number and a switchboard staff for fast, fast, relief?
