This is sick. Their shares should be plummeting not on the rise.

so you dont think that the cost of the clean up, and the on going federal investigations, and the attempted boycott, and the loss of revenues might be a penalty? the stock price has gone down since this issue started, and is only now going back up probably because BP is trying to prove that it has the needed assets to cover the costs involved in cleaning up the spill, and making those affected by the spill whole again.

What?

Did you read the article? BP is scrambling for a partner to keep it from being taken over. At one point it had lost $100 billion in market value. The well is gushing 60,000 barrels per day. At $70 a barrel that is $4.2 million a day that BP can't put into the bank. It's socking away $20 billion dollars for the lawsuits as far as the eye can see.

BP will pay for decades to come.

They could go under just in the US and still keep their assets everywhere else. Here's a good article showing if they do go under here, guess who's getting stuck footing this bill.

Good article.

I have no doubt that in the end the US taxpayer will be left holding the bill for this environmental disaster.

Anybody who supports a tiny liability, jumps to apologize to BP for the government being "too harsh", ultimately wants that to happens first... corporate liabilities last.

Now, what were you saying?
