Anyone breaching a 20-meter safety zone established by the Coast Guard around all Deepwater Horizon clean-up and response operations may face fines and felony charges.

The U.S. Coast Guard, acting under the authority of British Petroleum (BP), recently issued a blurry order requiring everyone - including bloggers, journalists, photographers and reporters -- to reportedly stay 20 meters away from any oil clean-up boom, operation, equipment or vessel in the Gulf of Mexico. Violating the rule can result in arrest, felony prosecution, and a $40,000 fine.

New rule makes violating BP oil spill 'safety zone' criminal

Since when does the US Coast Guard act UNDER the authority of any multi-national corporation?

In wartime the Coast Guard falls under the authority of the Department of Defense; and, in peacetime under the Department of Homeland Security.

Under the authority of British Petroleum? Horsefeathers!

If you substituted 'world' for country you would be more accurate. The Right insist that this is about Obama, night and day. That is patently incorrect, as you know. Many on both sides know the truth but the need to bash Obama makes those on the Right less likely to want to take time away from their bloodsport to debate in the middle. They don't want a fix. Truth be told, most on the Right have it pretty damn good. Even now. That's what's gotta change before there is a coming together of the American people to en masse, storm the bunkers of the wealthy and heal this country... the world, of as much destruction that the decades of elite greed and selfishness has wreaked upon it.
