The only people that would be against this would be people that do not want someone seeking an abortion to go into it with complete knowledge. They have been selling the "it's just a glob of cells" lie for a long time and we all know the lefties demand ignorance above all.
Do you understand that many abortions are done so early in the pregnancy that an ultra sound is totally useless?
I would say that this puts the final nail in Louisiana's coffin. But that state's been six feet under for quite awhile. I know business people from New York and Mississippi who (or whose companies) tried to do business there, and ended up writing the state off. Too corrupt. Too incompetent. Frankly, I knew better than to try to open an office there, or buy buildings there. Used to love to shop In Covington, Lafayette and Monroe, though. People are much nicer there than in snippy, miserable Mississippi. But that's about all you can say for the place. "Better than Mississippi" means being 49 out of 50.
Louisiana's always been described as a Banana Republic. Laws like these are what you find in places with really, really, low average IQs: Banana Republics.
I think the scene in Angel Heart, showing the fervent stupidity of adherents to the state's two dominant religious sects pretty much illustrates why Louisiana is hopeless (and had no better sense than to elect Bobby Jindal).

Of what use is an ultra sound in a 4-6 week pregnancy? Or earlier? Mine was so early that the doctor had to run a pregnancy test to verify it before doing the D&C! An ultra sound would have shown nothing!

our last kid: last period, just 1 day before christmas.....Jan no period....pee on a stick....NEGATIVE....feb no period.... pee on a stick....negitive....mar no period.....pee on a stick.... positive... go to docotr...pee again on a stick.....positive...... ultra sound... no baby.... hormone test. levels up come back in 48 hours to see it it doubles...come back in 24 hrs, close to double.... pee on a stick....NEGATIVE......sorry you lost it.......1 week later....unltra sound...a empty sac (hearts sink), but come back ina week...another utlrasound....its viable
What appears to be going on in Louisiana is another completely insecure male dominated culture is worried that women might just not want their kids. They base their manliness on their ability to impregnate regardless of the woman's cooperation. The only reason rape is a crime in that dump is because raping a woman devalues another man's property.
The rest of this country should provide asylum for any female living in Louisiana.
