"Israel began building the barrier in 2002, saying it would be a temporary bulwark against Palestinian suicide bombers and gunmen who have killed hundreds of Israelis."
Israel doesn't hate Palestinians or olive trees. Israel just wants to defend itself.
Why don't you google what happend to the olive trees and orchords when the palis took over ? Some of the trees they destroyed were thousands of years old !
Why don't you go help them ? I know they also need help in Somalia .
I'm sure Israel has a good reason, but I couldn't find it in the article.
The fact is, walls divide people. As long as there is a division, there will be hate. They either need to completely sperate, or join together.
I'd rather see one Israel, where Palestinians and Israelites would live, work, and rule together.
However, I don't see that happening. If a peaceful solution where they are together isn't found, then the world should get together, and force BOTH parties to accept certain boundries as decided by the world, and they could each have their own country.
If that means that Jerusalem goes to the Palestinians, so be it. Israel still would have Tel Aviv, so deal with it.
The Israelis could figure out how not to surround the village completely. Run the settler road along the fence on the Israel side since the settlements will be on that side anyway. That would leave free access to the village from one side, at least.
Six years ago Friday, the International Court of Justice said in a nonbinding ruling that the barrier's path through occupied territory violates international law and that Israel should tear down what it has built.
The same court had nothing to say about suicide bombers and rockets used as terror weapons against Israeli civilians?
The US support of the Israeli Apartheid is just a great modern tragedy.
(and now I will receive angry and obscene private messages for the next few days)
