Not at a cost of $300 MILLION.. $151M from the feds, and another $150M from the state.. Thats $1 MILLION PER JOB.. Do you have any clue how many jobs I could have provided for that kinda money?
Wrong. Of the 303 million dollar price tag for this battery plant roughly half is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy grant (151.4 million) and the rest is funded by LG Chem/Compact Power Inc. Along with their factories in South Korea, they have plants in China, Russia, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, India, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Vietnam, and Brazil. I think they know what they're doing.
600 hundred jobs according to all the local media. Just as important are the spin-off industries---places that are gearing up to supply the raw materials needed for this plant. Colleges in the area are gearing up to invest in teaching trade classes for this new technology as well. There is another new lithium-ion cell plant (a Johnson Controls-Saft partnership) in the area as well, being refitted in an old factory and they plan to employ 550 people by next summer. The LG Chem plant is like a stone thrown in a lake, the ripples will keep going, creating more and more jobs for Americans.

.......Granholm predicts the next generation of electric cars and the batteries that power them will create 62,000 jobs in the state over the next decade.

What a megalomaniac this man is. The arrogance and disconnect is breathtaking to behold.

Does obama and his team really believe the BS? Or do they believe they will not be challenged on the numbers from the media?
Oh, what a petty, classless piece of work this little man is. Rep. Hoekstra (R) attended the event out of "respect" for the office, but obama was his usual snarky, pissy self, continuing to denigrate the office by engaging in his never-ending rank partisanship.
0bama is busy picking the winners and losers, the winners like green energy get our hard earned tax dollars, while the losers will see their taxes and their day-to-day operating expenses go up.
Have you noticed that every public appearance before the media 0bama makes now, is just an excuse for a speech on green/clean energy? It does not matter if he is giving a speech for jobs, the economy, oil spills, housing, financial reform, energy, or even immigration, he makes the bulk of the speech about green/clean energy.
No, I don't and if they were coming to your neighborhood you wouldn't either.
6200 jobs a year?
Totally ridiculous. Is this the growth we can expect from "green technology"?
Completely unjustified to the amount of money invested.
Michigan has LOST over 300,000 jobs on Granholm's watch and she and obama want to tout 60,000?
