I'd also like to know why the unemployment benefits extension funding can't come from untapped TARP funds. Why won't Obama or any of the Democrats explain this?

The Dems know that the Stimulus funds are designed to help create the jobs that the unemployed are looking to find. But the GOP really has no interest in those unemployed, they are not likely to vote Republican in any case.

WWWWOOOOOOOOOOOO NELLIE, Unless I've misunderstood you, 99 weeks or 2 years is the most that anyone is able to collect unless, a 5th Tier is added. If you viewed Obama's press conference on MSNBC today at 10:45AM, he had several individuals that had been unemployed for quite some time. One gentleman has been unemployed for 2 years exhausting all his benefits. His regular benefits as well as his Tiers 1 thru 4. He still remains unemployedand has send out 100 resume's a month. Only recently, has he had 5 interviews. Obviously, this gentlemen wants to work in order to support his family. He needs additional benefits and in his case, an addition of a fifth Tier.
No, what this guy needs is a job. And he doesn't have a job largely because of the way Obama has mismanaged the economy. While talking about job creation he lambasts the job creators, hampers them with taxes and regulations and creates uncertainty about the future. Those are all prescriptions for continuing the recession. When will it sink in that borrowing huge sums of money and doling it out to favored constituencies will not turn this economy around? Extending unemployment benefits may keep the lid on the simmering anger out there for now and for the coming election. But it won't last much longer than that.

Ask all the Sun-Touched unemployed Repubs living in Nevada if its thier fault that their Primary source of State revenue (Hotel/Entertainment industry) got clobered in the middle of a economic resession. That also includes all the support industries.
