the opening of the Center of Excellence for Traumatic Brain Injuries for our soldiers. This is truly disgraceful and shows the absolute true disdain this administration has for the military.

Leslie H. Gelb Talks to Veterans Leader About Troops With PTSD - The Daily Beast

Quote:
At the podium in Bethesda, Maryland, stood Arnold Fisher, the chief fundraiser for this precious center that may need to care for hundreds of thousands of victims, searching in vain for one White House official, one Cabinet officer, one member of the Joint Chiefs, one senator.

“Here we are in the nation’s capital, the seat of our government, the very people who decide your fate, the people who send you out to protect our freedoms. And yet, where are they?” he asked the attendees.
Despicable, disgusting.

Shows you how much the Democrats cares for our veterans and soldiers. Good riddance. At least one GOP person could have shown up, shame on them too

Actually, obama was having a burger photo-op with the Russians.

McCain made it.

Despicable, disgusting.
While I don't agree with your assessment regarding the current administration and the military, and I started two threads about their commitment to veterans' health care issues, I do agree that someone from the admin should have been there.

I do have to point out this one little tidbit from your link:

"There was also little media attention to the opening, and only Rachel Maddow of MSNBC, it seems, noted the event and Fisher’s plaintive “Where are they?” question. "

Only MSNBC's Rachel Maddow noted the event. Repeat after me: Only MSNBC's Rachel Maddow noted the event - not Fox, not Beck, not O'Reilly, not Limbaugh. Rachel Maddow.

I don't think so.

From your link:

"Not one among the legions of pro- and antiwar hooting senators could find the time. Only two members of the House of Representatives found their way to the ceremony."

McCain is still a 'pro-war hooting senator', is he not?

"Not One WH Official, Cabinet Head, Joint Chiefs, Senator Attended"

Perhaps they were too busy removing the barriers for Vets seeking treatment there...

I don't want to infuriate you any more, but I just heard on the radio that between 0bama and Biden, they have attended 187 political functions for democrats since Jan 2009. So we know where their priorities are at. I have not validated this, but it does sound about right, it's "change we can believe in".
