According to presidential scholars, Obama is currently the 15th best President (somewhat surprisingly ahead of Reagan). See the article on politico.com from July 1, 2010:

Professors rank President Obama 15th best president - Emily Schultheis - POLITICO.com

What do you think? I'm not sure that I would rate him as high as 15th given that he's been the President for something like six quarters. And while I am fascinated with the subject of presidential rankings, I am definitely not a presidential scholar. For the most part, I do tend to agree on the rankings of his traits:

Imagination (6th)
Communication ability (7th)
Intelligence (8th)
Background (32nd)

oh for heavens sake, you don't really think anyone can rate the President in terms of best to worst after less than 2 years. No one can rate his intelligence level at any stage, what is that about? Have they seen his IQ scores or something? The only thing that is even a little believable at this state might be his communication skills, which translates to his ability to convince people he knows what he is doing, when he doesn't have a clue.

The results were from a Siena poll which is known for its left wing bias, their "scholars" always come up with different results than other organizations that run nonpartisan polls. It should have been obvious when their rankings dropped George Washington and Thomas Jefferson out of the top three slots in favor of FDR. The benchmark poll is the CSPAN rankings, and very few if any of the Siena results match them, usually the variation is by several ranks.

This seems to be simply rating his personality. I don't care about any of those criteria. I only care about the results a president brings to America. He could swear every other word and insult me at every turn, but if he brings progress to the country he is a good president in my mind.

Obama is a poor president because of the actions he has undertaken. His communication ability is immaterial in my mind.

A cute idea, and interesting point for a civil conversation (which means not here) but utterly meaningless.

Yes he is the best and he did not win the Nobel Peace Prize for being elected POTUS. It was for much much more.
