Public support for President Obama's Afghanistan war policy has plummeted amid a rising U.S. death toll and the unauthorized release of classified military documents, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll shows.
Only 41% of those surveyed Tuesday through Sunday approved of the way Obama is handling his job, his lowest rating in the USA TODAY/Gallup Poll since he took office in January 2009.
He's going to lose Afghanistan and might take Iraq with him as the violence there continues unabated.

It is very likely that he will lose public support for the Republican initiatives he has to pursue. Like it or not, Obama must act responsibly in Afghanistan and try to get out of the situation effectively. The American public does not like to see Americans dying in war.
The decline in support contributed to the lowest approval ratings of Obama's presidency. Amid a lengthy recession, more Americans support his handling of the economy (39%) than the war.
Obama deserves all this. This endless war garbage reminds me of Bush. If an election were held today I wouldn't vote for him again.
It's good to see the anti-war crowd finally distancing themselves from pro-war Obama.
Anti-war people are against anyone who prosecutes a war. That's pretty much the definition of it. Obama is definitely not pro-war, but he knows there are times when it is necessary. He did not believe Iraq was necessary, he does believe going after the actual culprits, in Afghanistan, is necessary. There are a lot on the far left, that do not support the centrist position that Obama follows, but that certainly does not mean those people would then move to support the GOP, which has become far right.

No, what it means is..many on the left are going to vote either third party or sit 2012 out.
The wars are just part of it. Obama has been dissing his liberal base, the same people who donated and worked on his campaign, since inauguration day.. while kissing Republican corporate butt all the while. I'm tired of it and I know others who feel the same.....lets see how he does without us.
That said a big chunk of this is liberals who are upset that Obama has remained so damn middle of the road centrist throughout his entire Presidency when they thought they elected a liberal.
