Ensuring there's enough money to pay for the war will require reforming the country's entitlement system, Boehner said. He said he'd favor increasing the Social Security retirement age to 70 for people who have at least 20 years until retirement, tying cost-of-living increases to the consumer price index rather than wage inflation and limiting payments to those who need them.
"We need to look at the American people and explain to them that we're broke," Boehner said. "If you have substantial non-Social Security income while you're retired, why are we paying you at a time when we're broke? We just need to be honest with people.

Oh, we get it now Boehner, we get to retire later to pay for extending the Bush tax cuts for the rich. Why didn't you just say so?

I would actually support this IF Boehner wasn't so committed to funding the war and recognized that we cannot afford to be a superpower anymore. Military might at the cost of public privation is what did in the USSR and other past empires, stretching all the way back to Rome.

I don't usually swear, but Boehner can go **** his orange dyed hide goodbye Imagine, let's continue to pay war expenditures, and rebuild things abroad, and nothing at home. The guy should be in jail.

I don't think having the cards stacked in your favor via corrupt and paid for representatives constitutes "gambling". Representation without representatives that are bought and paid for is My America.

Can you believe the arrogance and nerve of this jerk? I think that he should be tarred and feathered and then thrown off a moving train or waterboarded...his choice.
