They don't think all their spending will add to the debt?

What I don't get is all the people who can't wrap their heads around the idea that if we spend less money in general, we can tax people (all people) at a lower rate.

One friend that I've been round and round on it with has stated to me on a number of occasions that the rich fat cats have more money than they know what to do with.....so might as well take some of that to take care of the poor.

He is also unemployed, getting unemployment, and going to school on a pell grant. It'd be interesting to see where he stands on the issue in 10-15 years, presuming he'll no longer be a 23 year old kid with no money.

Yeah...how strange that the hardest working, most successful people I know are conservative when it comes to economics.

I don't think that's a coincidence.

A tax cut is simply a reduction in the amount of thievery that the government undertakes. It is akin to a thief breaking into your house and stealing fewer valuables than he did the year before. Either way, your property was violated and your possessions were stolen.

A tax cut only causes the deficit to increase if the program that the tax was originally enacted for does not take a cut in its budget.

Ah, forgive me, I misread your comment.

Yes, a tax cut would be a reduction in the amount paid to the government assuming that taxable income remained the same.
