Obama hasn't done very well on the Gulf Oil clean up and the MSM has given him a pass. If Hurricane Earl shifts West will it be Obama's Katrina?

The warnings are now out from the outer banks of the Carolinas to Maine. Will the heavily populated areas on the East coast be prepared?

The gulf is plugged and much of the oil dispersed well ahead of schedule. Plus that was a man made disaster, not natural and if any finger pointing needs to be done, it's on bush for taking the reigns off big oil to allow dangerous deep sea drilling.
Anyhow the hurricane isn't expected to make landfall and if it does, will be nowhere near the destruction of katriana. The overwhelming amount of damage done by katrina was done by the levees collapsing, not the hurricane itself.

Why would anybody prepare for a storm that EVERY Meteorologist says will miss the USA by hundreds of miles?

All I can say is I hope not. I hope it doesnt touch shore and doesnt do any damage, doesnt take any lives. Im clearly no supporter of Obama's but I dont want him or this nation to face another Katrina.

The only preparation necessary for a hurricane is to get the hell out of Dodge.

Honestly, these things can be unpredictable and nasty if you're not prepared, just like you can catch a break if you are preparing for one and they change course.

My mom lives in Florida. I think it was 1996 when Erin was 100% guaranteed to cause major damage to her region, and it ended up missing by a lot.

Then in 2004 they were hit by one as projected, and about ten days later they were hit by another one that actually made a perfect u-turn and landed in exactly the same place.

I'm not getting in on the politics of this one. You can't be too prepared for something like this.

Except that Dodge does not have hurricanes. They have tornadoes.

Dude, you held the key to saving thousands during Katrina and you didn't share the 411?

Interesting story. My uncle drove out to New Orleans East and demanded that his kids take his grandkids out of town immediately. He however drove back to this two story home... he spent a week in the Super Dome. Go figure.
