Ah neither does the "typical" Muslim otherwise you would have 1.4 billion terrorist on your hands, even though you and others seem hell bent in changing that.

Perhaps you might explain how liberals burning a flag will jeopardize the security of American forces.

If U.S. citizens don't want Muslims trampling on the U.S. flag then we shouldn't take it their country.

I'd suggest that if the Muslims don't want citizens abusing their book then they don't bring it to the U.S.

YOu know, freedoms and all that. Even neanderthals have freedoms... ask any citizen of any country. Really, ask them. It's a test.

I'm merely pointing out that Patraeus should not wade into this debate unless he intends to project an opinion on every matter of Constitutionally-protected speech. As much as we all want the welfare of our troops to be first and foremost on everyone's minds, flag-burning hippies certainly didn't stop to consider such in the 60's, and that was their right. The same goes for this church.

I wonder if Patraeus has voiced the same concerns toward anti-American liberals who burn our flag?
I mentioned this earlier in this thread and of course all quiet on the loon front.

Patraeus would be fired by the idiot in the WH if he would ever say anything against people burning our flag.

Petraeus is wading into this debate because he has an opinion as to what will happen to his soldiers as a result of this action - and he has real cause for concern, by the way. He's not saying anything about the Constitutionality of the action, flag burning, or any other expression of free speech in this country. Do you see the difference? And why does Petraeus have to project an opinion on every matter of Constitutionally protected speech? That doesn't even begin to make any earthly sense.

Yes, those guys in the church have a right to burn the Koran. That doesn't make it a good idea.

Preacher is on Nightline right now.....he just said he and his flock plan on being armed.....this might not end well.

Perhaps you can provide PROOF that burning the book will hurt the security of the American forces.

Or is it just like Jack Murtha telling the world that our soldiers were hunting down innocent Muslim woman and children and killing them in cold blood.

I don't understand what cave people are living in that they don't realize that there are hundreds of thousands of AMERICAN BORN CITIZENS who are Muslim.....that they don't realize that many Muslims died in the World Trade Center tragedy....that they don't realize that there are thousands of American Muslim soldiers who are putting their lives on this line for this country at this very moment. Muslims are not some strange creatures. They are your neighbors and your fellow citizens. In addition there are millions of peaceful Muslims around the world who are living their lives without harming another soul.

To pretend that it is somehow alright to insult fellow citizens, endanger the lives of our brave troops, and shame our country around the world is utterly unAmerican and against everything for which we stand. The day that we start believing it is the way to deal with those with whom we differ is the day that the terrorist have really won.
