But there is little humans can do to cause harm to our home, that is the point.
Exactly. The voice of reason. Your point is well taken.
The alarmist don't like to hear this side because it makes all their efforts, well pretty much in vain.
And yes they will go on the attack with guns blazing, character assassination etc.
And you, JPD with your flash anger and judgement tells us all we need to know about you!
The fact that you would react with such disdain and arrogance tells the story.
No anger at all, just calling it like I see it.
Why do you choose to mock those who wish to act in a way they feel is beneficial to all of us (in the present, and not thousands or millions of years from now)? It'd be more appropriate for you to thank them.
But there is plenty we can do to make it much more difficult for us to live here.
You mean like driving a car or using any form of transport OTHER than your own two feet?
Because the moral superiority some have simply because 'they care' is rather funny considering for all their lackluster attempts at being 'caring' they still pollute.
Again, can a two pack a day smoker really feel that superior to a four pack a day smoker?
"The Earth doesn't care." Surprise! The Earth is an inanimate object. We, however, happen to have that inanimate object for a home. So perhaps it's more important for us to care about our home than for our home to care about us. Just a possibly outlandish thought.
Yes, we have been poor keepers of the planet and this is quite an interesting theory...
The Gaia Theory posits that the organic and inorganic components of Planet Earth have evolved together as a single living, self-regulating system. It suggests that this living system has automatically controlled global temperature, atmospheric content, ocean salinity, and other factors, that maintains its own habitability. In a phrase, “life maintains conditions suitable for its own survival.” In this respect, the living system of Earth can be thought of analogous to the workings of any individual organism that regulates body temperature, blood salinity, etc. So, for instance, even though the luminosity of the sun – the Earth’s heat source – has increased by about 30 percent since life began almost four billion years ago, the living system has reacted as a whole to maintain temperatures at levels suitable for life.

No, I mean things like:
chemical spills
oil spills
forest fires
irresponsible farming techniques
overfishing certain species into extinction (or near extinction)
clear cutting old growth forests
nuclear disasters
etc.

Quite a few of those things are simple accidents...
Forest fires can be good for the environment.
Extinctions were mentioned in the article and aren't really applicable.
Also,is there anywhere on earth where man's impact has changed the earth forever?

So you think it's possible to be perfect in everything we do? That's a pipe dream. We aren't doing anything to this planet that it can't fix itself. Humans aren't going anywhere, we have this ability to ADAPT. Do you know what that means?

It's impossible to be perfect. Not sure where you got the idea that I think otherwise.
Please tell me where you got the crazy idea that humans will be around forever, because having the ability to adapt absolutely does not guarantee that.
