You said it "was not quite out there." I was wondering if you wanted to quantify that. Now "quite out there" can mean a few things. It can be a euphemism for how radical an idea might be, like out on the fringe. Or some actual distance. You brought it up, I just didn't understand how you were using it.
Since by now you've probably figured out what I meant, this may not be needed as an example, (to quantify) but I'm posting it any way.
It isn't the same report, but it is dated around the time of the article I read and it also has the same information in it.
Evolution is not just about the plants and animals, but includes our universe, as well. With the word Chaos, in the title of the thread, I associated the word with reports and articles that I have read, where they are determining that there is more chaos in the universe, than what one might think.
When I think of the Bible saying that the earth was void and I read an article like the one from national geographic magazine that sates 257 million years ago, the earth was so hot, there was mass extinction, then I see Genesis.
If I were writing a Genesis, I'm sure I'd pretty much sum it up they same way they did and say the earth was void and without life. However, I'm sure I wouldn't be as eloquent with it as they were.
It has been nice chatting with you, but I won't be back to this thread. I'm tired most days and well, my heart just really isn't into all this talk and debate as it once was.

If I were writing a Genesis, I would use unambiguous prose. I fact, I place very few expectations on a Supreme Being, other than the capacity to turn out a single volume of the stuff.

Wait a minute, now you are writing about hearing. Were you meaning to write "quiet" as opposed to "quite?" You know, that would be completely different. Do you wish to clarify? Not quiet out there or not quite out there. If that was an error, you kept repeating it. How about "quit" it.

I am sure every scientist would agree earth was "void and without life".
Rendering the Genesis account even more problematic and opaque.
