Can someone explain this to me?

When an AZ law goes into effect, which they say violates federal law, everyone flips out.

When CA is on the verge of passing a law legalizing personal use of marijuana, clearly in violation of federal drug laws ............... its alright?

If i'm over simplifying things, i apologize - I'm just a little confused.

Why confused? Follow the political agenda of this administration and which federal laws they choose to enforce with vigor and those which they do not. It is really quite clear.

Because Obama is on the side of the cheap labor lobby which wants their labor costs extremely low so their profits are very high and of course the elites with their need for unlimited numbers of low wage servants. And the war on drugs is a fraud, they could stop the drugs but don't want to because the corruption goes to the very top.

Agree or disagree .... doesn't really matter. It doesn't really matter if you agree with the law or not, its basic reasoning. If the AZ law is trumped by Fed, shouldn't the CA law receive equal scrutiny?

You've got it backwards. The only ones on the side of pro illegals are the republicans. Ronald Reagan gave blanket amnesty, W called for it and McCain also tried to pass amnesty but the dems shot it down in congress. Though i do agree Reagan's war on drugs was a complete failure.
Otherwise i think there is little outlash on legalizing marijuana as it's not a hot topic issue like gay marriage and illegal immigration are. People have strong views one way or the other and few politicians want to touch it.

A guy in Colorado is having problem with the feds and Colorado's legal Medical marijuana laws. The feds are charging insted of the state and won't let him use the fact that the state has a medi-pot law. So like AZ CO residents have the feds trumping state laws. Makes zero sense.

The real way to handle this from a federal standpoiut is enact laws that take away fedewral fundig to states that enact laws like this. No federal aid on treatig dru abuse;enforcement of drug laws.

The real way to handle an out of control federal government that tries that tactic is to withold all federal income taxes collected in that state and tell the feds to go pump sand. California has actually done this before, but then eventually worked out a compromise with the feds.

There is precedent for states successfully refusing to follow federal law. Google New York State Alcohol Prohibition. You will find that New York (and other states) simply told the feds that alcohol prohibition was unenforcable. This was before the feds finaly decided to repeal alcohol prohibition, and the action of these states contributed to that repeal. It's well documented, but too many people are quick with the smart remarks and short on historical facts. For additional information look up Thomas Jefferson, who wrote about the limits on the federal powers as regards the states and the judiciary (Supreme Court).

This will tell you a lot more than the conjectures of the armchair conservatives and speculators you've heard from so far.

The "war on drugs" was Nixon's creation, not Reagan's.
