Starship troopers as applied to modern ploitics and government....hmm. Heinlein wrote quite a few books that revolved around the government he envisioned in our future. Tunnel in the Sky, The Star Beast , Starship Troopers and Red Planet. A Colonial Boy on Mars all had a simi;lar theme in politics and governance. Red Planet delved into rebellion against oppresive government a bit as compared to Starship Troopers( the movie was a butchering of the book...this I do agree with). Oh, I could ramble for hours on Heinlein. LMAO, but time restrains me. Interesting thread though. Reading between the lines of authors works can certainly be thought provoking. I read heinleins works as a young lad, having checked them out from my school library. Recently I went with my teenage son, who attends the same school I did, and the same library has not ONE of these books on the shelf, nor many of the other works I read in yonder days. Jean George, Wilson Rawls....no go. Odd that. Good thing I have all these works in my own library.
