I remember when 60 minuets was doing a story claiming how Chevy pick-up trucks exploded when hit in the side.

They tried over and over and couldn't get one to blow as they claimed. So, what do they do? The rigged explosives to go off when the truck was rammed.

And they are still on the air.

The media is downright corrupt, what they do is near treasonous. They owe the American public fair reporting. They are suppose to inform the public of what goes on. They are suppose to be our Watch Dog. Yet they are complicit and facilitators in pushing through a liberal agenda and it's been clear for while they will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to tear down Conservatives and prop up Liberals.

What's sad is even with all the biased, the lies, the smears November 2nd still is going to be bad for Democrats. Now imagine if the media were fair. If the media were fair, the bloodbath would be even worse for the liberals. Much worse. Oh, to live in a perfect world where the media was not corrupt. I can only dream.
Yeah, like Fox *News* is not biased and is not "pushing an agenda." OMG! Looks like CBS is just balancing out the propaganda machine that is FOX. How much money was it that was given to Republicans by the owner of FOX for their campaigns this election season?

Surprised? I'm not. This is just business as usual for the left wing media.

That was Dateline NBC. That was huge, and they're constantly in trouble for stupid tricks of that nature.

What happened to the times when the media actually just reported the news?

And you conveniently forget your right wing media, FOX. Remember the ACORN story by the "pimp" reporter? LOL Exactly where is that "pimp" reporter now?

When was that? Most people go into journalism to muckrake.

The failure of true journalism began (in my opinion) with the Vietnam War. The increase in left wing influence in our universities and colleges, combined with a loosening of traditional ethics have led the charge.

Add to that the rise of the Internet and the death of newspapers and of TV news. In the past you had reporters and anchors who reported the news without coloring it with their own bias, now you have an almost pervasive bias. In the past, news was provided in limited ways, and those sources were heavily scrutinized by a society with different ethics. Ethics today are not what they were 50 years ago.

As an example of the change in ethics and the impact of Vietnam, look at the biased coverage of the war. During WWII, correspondents were provided access to the front and to secret information in some cases. They did not report things that they knew would be harmful to the US and our war effort. Today, reporters step on each other to try and demonize the US and our war effort. They release confidential and secret documents, and they have no problem putting our service men and women at risk to try to advance a story and their biased point of view. It's disgusting really.
