Uh, but these same citizens voted in the people who will be creating this mess......often in droves!

Obviously, I am hoping the show is wrong. The fact that they have these camps set up all across the USA still scares me.

Welfare will be the New Unmployment Checks if they don't approve the extensions.

Yes, I saw that at the time. I'm not a fan of Murray or Gregoire, frankly.

I think the reason they have to rejig the software is that WA would credit your UE "account" with the balance of the tiers when you went onto Tier 2, and of course when the tiers end, some won't be eligible for all tiers. They also added in the $25 FAC which of course discontinues prior to the end of the EUC

It'll probably be a shock for some that haven't kept track of what tier or week they're in.

Of course, we won't all qualify for Welfare or foodstamps. If you are married and your spouse is employed, you won't get anything.

Recourse to unemployment compensation on the same at-will basis as employment relationships would not require any more friction in the market for labor other than simply claiming to be naturally unemployed in order to collect unemployment benefits. The rest is the "cost" of red tape due to a larger government instead of a smaller government. How much confidence can we place in the sincerity of the republicans and the republican doctrine?

Politico.com is reporting that House Democratic leaders have decided against putting major controversial bills on the floor in the first week of a lame-duck session, according to a schedule released by House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer's office Friday evening.

The most significant legislation likely to be considered by the House includes a reauthorization of programs in the Justice Department and a bill aimed at facilitating teleworking.

No word whether the extension of federal unemployment benefits will be considered by either the House or the Senate before they adjourn again at the end of next week for Thanksgiving.

Plus Harry Reid has a few bills which he invoked cloture on prior to the break. I know they aren't going to get anything done by nov 30

On Wednesday, September 29 -- before the recess -- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid filed cloture on the motion to proceed to the following bills when the Senate reconvenes next week:
• S.3815 - The Promoting National Gas and Electric Vehicles Act of 2010;
• S.3772 - The Paycheck Fairness Act; and
• S.510 - The FDA Food Safety and Modernization Act.

None of the three pending bills has any connection to the extension of unemployment benefits.

I love it how they didn't even think to extend it through the holiday season. Are they so callous to leave the American people out to dry over the holidays while our congressman sip on cider. Merry Christmas. Id love a job as a Christmas gift from our congressman.
