Dancing With The Stars producers are considering a gay couple for next season's show. Portia de Rossi (DeGeneres) is being considered & would be dancing with a female partner. Producers believe a female couple would be more acceptable than a male couple for this first foray. Male couples wouldn't be far behind. Appropriate for prime time? Would it make even liberals uncomfortable when shown on ABC in prime time?

I think gay couples is a great idea for the show. Way overdue.

Why would two women dancing together make people feel uncomfortable? If both women were straight would people still be uncomfortable? It would seem we are stuck in this weird dichotomy. On the one hand many want us to be living in a puritanical environment, and on the other hand, many of those same puritans are obsessed about other people's sex lives. Bizarre!

Personally I find the show to be gay enough already I doubt it would make any difference.
I watched it one time, that was more than enough for me.

The dancing couples should only be man/woman.

Doesn't bother me.
If I don't like something, I just don't watch it. Plenty of channels to choose from.

We don't need that on American T.V.

The dances were INTENDED to be danced as a female/male COUPLE ONLY.

Even gay ballroom dancers who COMPETE KNOW THIS.

The ratings will TANK Guaranteed TANK if they put on gay couples.

No doubt about it.

I don't see the point. It's not it's "having sex with the stars", these are not romantic partners, and attraction has nothing to do with this. I'm not seeing the gay angle here except for the controversy and ratings and someone trying to make an ill conceived point.

I completely agree with this. Dancing is an art which contains roles for the different sexes. There are male roles and female roles. Just like how in the home, the women's roles are to cook, clean, and service men, while the man's role is to bring home the bacon and fix the cars.

::sarcasm implied::
