Seems to be some back scratching going on between Øbama and GE. The CEO of GE already sits on one of the presidents advisory boards, and we know Øbama gives GE billions in green energy subsidies via the taxpayers, and now GE buys 12,000 Chevy Volts from Øbama Motors, along with the $5,000 rebate for each Chevy Volt? To quote Eddie Murphy from one of his characters on SNL: "What a deal, what a deal for me!"
GE said Thursday it will buy 25,000 electric vehicles for its fleet through 2015 in the largest-ever purchase of electric cars.
GE will begin with an initial purchase of 12,000 vehicles from General Motor Co., starting with Chevy Volt in 2011. The conglomerate said it "will add other vehicles as manufacturers expand their electric vehicle profiles."
How much more incestuous can this GE/Øbama relationship get?
i heard it's a $7500 rebate, and it's not entirely an electric car...at highway speeds it relies on the gas motor. and exactly how long will the car run on electricity without having to be recharged?
also, doesn't toyota and nissan have "electric" cars, too??

I assume you would prefer GE would buy the cars from Toyota instead? You can have that preference if you like, I, however, would like to see them buy American products, but then, I am kind of partial to American Industries.

I love how the lefties on here get their panties in a wad about how repubs are in bed with big business as if they are only ones.

Actually, yeah. I WOULD rather have GE buy Toyotas made in Tennessee with non-union labor than "American" cars that might be made in Mexico.
Anyway, Toyota doesn't need GE to buy its cars. They are good enough that actual consumers buy them instead.
It has GE, Gubment, GM and by extension, Obama, therefore, must be bad. Or maybe it's the letter G they have issues with, perhaps a while ago, there was a particularly scary Sesame Street show on that letter, hard to tell.
A electric company buying electric cars as a promotion;what as surprise.Next thing you know natrual gas companies will be using natural gas vehicles;oops they already are.
