Reminds me of an episode of World At War and the Germans believing in "Miracle Weapons."

Smart bombs, Smart weapons, Smart-this, Smart that! Only problem is that it's being used in a dumb war. They told us how great all of this "smart" technology would be during the first Gulf War and we're still meandering around over there with our thumbs up our patootie.

The price is $25,000 - $30,000 each. I bought one for each family member's Christmas present on eBay at a good discount. I think the seller is located in Afghanistan.

I hope our troops can put it to good use. It's disappointing to read about it's range limitations. 700 meters is less than half the effective range of a .50 sniper rifle. It wouldn't reach out and touch someone in many of the engagements in the open terrain of Afganistan, but might well change the rules in urban areas.

Good. But I see the bad guys rapidly adapting using civilian human shields more often than they already do.

I can afford it. Good toy, though.
