Orthodox church destroyed on 9/11 sues NYC over roadblocks to its reconstruction; city charging ahead with Ground Zero mosque - Jihad Watch

If one didn't read the location and removed the 9/11 connection, one could be forgiven for thinking this article refered to some place in Saudia Arabia or some other sharia law country instead of the United States. It seems the NYC Port Authority is full of dhimmis and Christaphobes.

It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the actual location and the impact one would have on current construction that the other one would not, could it??

Oh, I'm sorry facts don't mesh with conspiracy theories.....

Btw, I know the area extremely well and use to work in that area.

Let me see if I can follow this logic.

Site A gets approval.
Site B does not.
Site A is not the same as Site B, has different logistical, legal and adminstrative issues.

Therefore, it is a Muslim conspiracy.

I think there is a link missing here somewhere.

That article is not very clear on what is happening.

No, it's even worse. You might not have known this, coming from Houston, but Port Authority is NOT a New York City agency. It is, in fact, interstate, and it's real name is, and I quote, "Port Authority of New York and New Jersey."

The bureaucracy emanating from P.A. is more than enough to make you gag. So stories like this are not and should not be surprising.

I like to read comments when there are some and the fourth and last one on this link is one that I really like. I agree with that person 100%.

In all honesty, which group would you choose to help first?

The ones that will kill you if you don't or the ones that will meekly accept being treated unfairly?

I have read many times about the problems the St. Nicholas people are having getting permission to rebuild and have to side with them. They were there before the attack and I don't think there was a Muslim church in the size proposed in that building they are getting to build in. It is time for the Orthodox people to fight back.

Wow. The City of New York is building a mosque at Ground Zero? When did that happen?

As others have noted, the church is not suing the city - it is suing the Port Authority and the Lower Manhattan Development Corp. These 'Chicken Littles" couldn't even be bothered reading the article they sourced from. I know it was the Daily News, but, even they very clearly noted that it was the PA of NY-NJ and not NYC.

BTW: Do you know where the church is located in relation to the construction site?

"The underground portion of the old church site is part of what is to become an underground vehicle security center, where trucks entering the site would be searched."

I would like someone in this thread to explain to me how the church's issues are in any way related to the mosque.

The mosque and the church are not connected in anyway. It seems to me that this church has simply made the mistake of trying to build on land they don't own.
