That being said, she can take her post-fact rationalizations and shove them. There weren't any WMD. It was her job to know. She failed. Deal. Oh, sure, lots of people failed, and I'm sure that in the world of Condoleeza Rice, the buck stops somewhere, anywhere, else. But with high posts come high responsibility, and I'd really like to see someone step up and shoulder it.
She's been saying this all along, even before the invasion. It was the job of the world's intelligence agencies to know, and obviously they got it wrong, so did the UN, who had inspectors looking for those non-existent WMD two days before the invasion, so did the democrats and the Clinton administration, who called for regime change AND paraded a whole lot of dems from congress talking about saddam and his WMD.

BWHAHAHAHAH!
Couric asked a question with a false premise, which Rice called her on and then blew that left-wing talking point premise to all hell and then she proceeded to school her on the facts leading up to the invasion. What version were you watching?
This is beautiful. She lays it out and blows to smithereens the liberal "narrative" on the Iraq invasion, the reasons for it and the intelligence behind the decision.
Bottom line, if you're Conservative, you'll go along with Rice. If you think the Bush administration was full of it (what i think), nothing that Rice says on that topic in particular will do. Absolutely NOTHING!!
That said, i admire Condi Rice from a personal standpoint. But i can't forgive anyone, including Colin Powell, for supporting that invasion.
Did you watch the snippet? She conceded no such thing, but articulated the preponderance of the evidence from around the WORLD, agreed that he did in fact have WMD.
She totally blew to smithereens the leftist "talking points" that couric was using.
She completely and totally shot to hell the premise that couric started with, stopped her cold and schooled her on the factual information.
She is one impressive individual - tough, articulate, smart as a whip and I think she also schooled obama too the last time she visited the WH.
As we all know there were not WMD. That administration was either lying or using primitive intelligence.
In addition, we were already at one war. WTH was the urgency to go to war with Iraq? There was no intelligence of an eminent attack anywhere.
Couric and the other liberal fools will overlook the facts...as usual.
I heard Condi say we invaded Iraq because, "he was firing at our aircraft daily and so on and so on." Condi is making stuff up and talking non answers. The interview is chalk full of weak excuses.
SCHOOLED must be in the eye of the beholder. Couric owned Rice. Rice was dodging and weaving. The best Rice could come up with was that Saddam "had had" WMD and might pursue them in the future. She concedes that her intelligence was wrong and Saddam did not have WMD but dodges the question that if knowing that she would still approve of an invasion.
Rice is damaged goods and lost any credibility and ability to be a presidential candidate by being Cheney & Bush's stooge.
In the interview, Rice herself says that there was no way of knowing if Iraq had the WMDs since it was a closed and opaque society.
Fabulous basis for making the most important executive decision a president can possibly face, isn't it?
Since you can't know, just assume that what you'd prefer to be the case must be true, because that's the way you want it to be.
Idiotic. Childish. Beyond unforgivable.
but, but, but, Bush wanted to make his daddy proud.
