I'm convinced my government lied to me, continues to lie to me and has no intention of ever owning up to those facts. I believe my government creates enemies as a means to an end. We're never told what that end is, though.
The UN demanded that Saddam get rid of the WMDs that he did have. Saddam complied. But, Cheney and Rummy didn't want any part of that, and GW, the puppet that he was, went along with them. Hence, "Shock and Awe" and the associated thousands of lost lives, and who knows how many maimed.

A government without an enemy becomes the enemy. It serves their interest to occupy the land of camel jockeys and then waging war with them when they don't like it.

The UN and the US had accounted for ALL of Hussein's non-nuclear WMD's. We had the container and tracking numbers, knew where all of them were and exactly to the ounce how much he had. And biological and other agent WMD's WERE NOT the reason d'etre for invading Iraq. We and the world knew about them since the early 90's. Hell, we gave him most of them.
So many uneducated citizens of the USA think a chem/bio agent was the reason for invading as WMD's. They were as has been proven time and time again, NOT.
