That's right. Because I can quickly scan the ads a whole helluva lot faster than I can wade through 291,000 websites.

Try using Firefox web browser with a free add-on called Ad Block Plus. I use it and have not seen an ad on google (or other sites) in ages. Almost since the last time I used a phone book!
I do. The yellow pages are extremely useful. They are the only place you can find listings of every business with a business phone in a particular area. Until every business with a phone can get a free listing in an on-line directory on the internet, yellow pages will be needed.Besides, there are still many people that don't use computers.
I use them once in awhile and I know of many elderly who don't have computers, yes there are still people who don't have computers, still need and use the big books.
Just paid my monthly ad for the local AT&T Yellow Pages.
$406.45 for a rather small ad. They will not let this be paid by the year.
I know our bigger ads are $3500 and one other is $1800 per year.
There is a lot of money goes into this books.
IMO, for a city to restrict delivery will hurt commerce and just cause people to lose their jobs.
