Steele Drops Out, Endorses Cino | TPMDC

Quote:
Michael Steele just dropped out of his race for a second term as RNC chairman and threw his support to Maria Cino, who came in second place after the fourth ballot here at the GOP's winter meeting in National Harbor, MD.

"I will step aside because I think the party is ready for something different," Steele said.

I certainly didn't like him, he was way too effective.

I appreciate the sacrifice to step aside.

I think Palin would be good here - she is effectively doing the job right now.

Interesting. I was proud of him for his accomplishments, but ultimately, i don't give a damn because i'm not a Republican and couldn't possibly care less who their chairman is.

I might give him a break if the president was a republican, because then the pres would be defining the party's position, and Steele would just be collecting contributions, but 0bama has been president, and Steele was all but invisible.

Nah, she is defining her version of conservatism, which may not be the same as what the blue-blood elite repubs think it is.

I knew this two years ago. The only reason he was ever there was because Obama won the election. If not for that he would have stayed in the back of the room and he knows it. He is a joke trying to belong to the republican in crowd.
