Lets say you don't have to. Then you get sick or get in an accident, you go to the ER and, if you are not seriously wealthy, the tab gets picked up via increased costs to those already paying for insurance and/or the taxpayer. Sounds fair
You don't have to now..so whats the difference....
And no, you negotiate....You can always pay something....
Whats not fair, is if I decide I don't want insurance, I have to pay a fine...

Oh right .... so you have had an accident ... you are laying in the middle of the road with you leg broken in several places. Who are you going to negotiate with? The paramedics, the ambulance driver? Nope you are going to accept treatment and if you cannot pay all of it you will be happy for the taxpayer and those who do pay for insurance to pick up the difference. Its called "freeloading"
Now you are getting it. We just don't want you to be one of those freeloaders any more.
Ahhh...nope....I'm retired Army and now I have 2 insurances...BCBS is my Primary and Tri-Care prime is my secondary...I pay around $300 a month for both....
I have yet to pay a co-pay on anything....
So no free loader here...I have paid my dues....what about you?

Actually similar, but use VA for my primary care needs and Medicare Advantage for scripts. I pay some VA copays and 0 for the Medicare Advantage. I too have paid my dues.

I really hope people don't think like you....really...
You will be given care, no matter the situation....
So, please tell me what obama care will do? Will it make a difference? Lets say obama care is fully implemented...and I still decide not to take insurance, I pay the yearly fine....and get in a wreck, same wreck as you stated above...with no insurance mind you....what happens then? Will I be denied care?

I have VA also....I'm at 30%....but I only use VA for what I am at 30% for...nothing else, so I can document all my problems for later....
