Or it's more about control than anti-abortion and alleged protection of the unborn. I don't have a link yet because I haven't fully researched this.

There's a bill before the Montana Senate that would require a woman seeking an abortion to have a mandatory ultra-sound. It includes felony charges against a medical doctor if said doctor doesn't give the woman an ultrasound. So, the legislators feel a need to insert themselves into the exam room and interfere in the relationship between a doctor and patient. Regardless of how one feels about abortion, this Bill is very dangerous territory.

I agree, we do not need more government in the doctor's office.

But, you know, certain people are against more government intrusion in our lives, except when it fits their own personal agenda.

People who propose bills like this are hoping that pregnant women seeking abortions will see a perfectly formed human baby in the ultrasound and rethink getting the abortion. Even though I am pro-choice, I see where they are coming from. Problem is, mandatory ultrasounds only increase the cost and really will not "prevent" abortions from happening.

That, and at 8 weeks, it hardly looks like the cute and cuddly babies that everybody turns to mush over.

It is Unconstitutional and will never pass. It is an unnecessary procedure and no insurance company would ever pay for it and the tax payers sure won't. Even if they were dumb enough to actual pass it they would never be able to set into practice because it would defeated in the courts.

LOL. Unless it is hussein obama's obamacare.

The left's abhorhance to people being educated clearly shows how little they care for anyone. What's wrong with a woman knowing just what she is about to roto-router out of her body? Are you afraid women many have a second thought when she sees her baby? Are you afraid the truth will sink in to what abortion is all about?

TRUTH, something the left fights against every day.

It is a matter for the state of Montana, not the nation. Why not allow the voters of that state to decide? Those who do not like the outcome can vote with their feet and move to a different state.

Is there a reason the OP failed to post a link to back up her thread?

As restrictions on legal, recognized medical procedures are not.
