Well, the thread title is "Hawaii to ban toy guns". That is a LIE. The proposed bill (if I'm to believe the article) would not allow children to buy replica guns.

Let's say Hawaii had a law that didn't allow children to buy alcohol - would you claim that Hawaii had "banned alcohol"?

And yes, I agree with the proposed bill.

What is the point of this law? Is children buying their own toy guns some huge problem?

I also wonder how many dollars were wasted drawing up this piece of crap.

And yes, I agree with the proposed bill.

You are nitpicking. And the law is absolutely stupid.

Why do so many people want the government to tell them how to live their lives and how to raise their children?????

Pathetic.

I agree the title of the thread is misleading in the extreme...

As per the article:
Quote:
The bills would make it a crime to sell or offer to sell a toy gun to a minor in Hawaii
It's an asinine bill written by asinine politicians, what else is new?

God forbid the thread was titled by the content of the article rather than aping the sensationalism of the newspaper

It would be interesting to debate whether kids should be allowed to purchase things like BB guns or Airsoft guns or pellet guns without parental consent. However, to frame the debate by saying "Hawaii wants to ban toy guns" is just plain LYING.

Actually the words in the link come from the newspaper too, it's the title of the document which is in the header of the document, be the same thing on the title bar or what Google would use as link to it in web search result.
