Following an TSA review of the issue, John Pistole, the agency's administrator, said screeners will now be allowed to vote on whether they want a union to collectively bargain with the agency on their behalf.
Holy crap....GED and able to hold a magnetic wand is all it takes to be in the TSA.
And now they unionize ? Sweet...union benefits, guaranteed job security and guaranteed rising salaries.
Anyone currently unemployed should become a TSA agent.
Why not? A bunch of the unionized parking attendants at Logan Airport in Boston took home more than 100 thousand dollars in 2010.
Oops I'm sorry, they are "Parking Utility Technicians".
Some Logan parking lot attendants make $100G a year (http://www.myfoxboston.com/dpp/news/local/some-massport-employees-make-100g-a-year-20110203 - broken link)
I don't but the TSA sure does. Now we'll have even more overpaid idiots searching people all over the country at our airports all because some liberal nut job feels that everyone should make $100K a year and get full medical benefits at no cost to themselves.
They will be able to do a more thorough "feel" of people with the union backing them.
